Fistful of mercy hat sich im Februar dieses Jahres geformt und überzeugt nun mit dem ersten Album “As I call you down”. Der unvergleichliche aukustische Gitarrensound und die herausragenden Stimmen von Ben Harper, Dhani Harrison und Joseph Arthur harmonieren perfekt zusammen. Besonders bemerkenswert finde ich den Gesang von Dhani Harrison, der seinem Vater George Harrison sehr ähnlich ist. Übrigens rocken die 3 Jungs zukünftig auch auf europäischem Boden, so ist für November nächsten Jahres schon eine Europa-Tour angesetzt. Wir sind schon gespannt auf das nächste Album von Fistful of Mercy, das hoffentlich gleich ergreifend wie ihr aktuelles Album wird.

Carl Barât – Single Album

Am 4. Oktober hat Carl Barât sein neues Soloalbum “Carl Barât” veröffentlicht.
Kaum eine Woche später ist das Album schon auf Platz #xy der Deutschen sowie Platz #xy der Britischen charts.
Die erste Frage die ich mir beim erstmaligen Anhören des Albums stellte war: Wo sind die rockigen Libertine-tunes geblieben?
Anscheinend legte Carl die Rockige-Seite ad acta und packte Streicher und mehrheitlich akustische Gitarrenmusik auf sein Album und ist somit auch weit weg von the good old days.
Schade eigentlich, denn etwartet wurde ein rockiges Solo-Album mit leichtem Dirty Pretty Things-Feeling im Hintergrund.

I think it´s a nice beginning for our blog, to start with this song!

By the way, you should listen to the whole “consolers of the lonely” album. There are many great songs and some of them sound like a new version of the White Stripes classics and show you that the Raconteurs are good musicans which have other songs than steady as she goes!!!
